Modifications / Additions / Improvements
Question:
What do I need to submit to the design committee when adding a modification, addition or improvement to my home?
Answer:
Attach two (2) drawings, blueprints, or sketches which will show an exterior elevation drawing with measurements, such as height, width, length, materials to be used, and color scheme. Also include a plot plan showing the location of the existing structures, the new improvement, distances from property lines; setbacks or easements must be included. A before and after photograph is required. Failure to provide above will result in your application being rejected and you will need to re-submit a new application.

When do I need the approval of the design committee to make a addition, change or modification to my home?
Answer:
Whenever any part of the exterior of an existing improvement or any other exterior work which has a cost exceeding $1,000.00 must first obtain approval of the Design Committtee

Painting Improvements
Question:
What do I need to provide to the Design Committee when planning to re-paint my home?
Answer:
If you are repainting the exterior of your home, you must provide color samples, and label BODY and TRIM on samples. Please provide two (2) choices of each, indicating 1st choice, and 2nd choice. Remember all exterior paint must be of EARTHTONE, and flat paint.

What colors are allowed by the association?
Answer:
All exterior paint must be of EARTHTONE and flat paint. Examples of earth tones can be found in the Documents Section of the Website.

Roofing Improvements
Question:
What do I need to submit to the design committee when planning to re-roof my home?
Answer:
If you are re-roofing or extending the roof, you must provide a color sample and the make and / or brand of roofing material. Failure to provide two (2) paint samples and or roofing sample will result in your application being rejected and you will need to re-submit a new application.

Question:
What type of roofing is allowed by the association?
Answer:
All roofs, other than flat roofs, shall be covered with asphalt shakes or of material of comparable quality and texture. No wooden shakes allowed. No metal roof or vinyl coated roof or siding visible from neighboring property shall be permitted unless the same be maintained in non-reflective condition.

Approval Process
Question:
What are the Village Park Design Committee homeowner design request guidelines and requirements?
Answer:
Approval of this application by the Design Committee is required before any construction / improvements are permitted under the Village Park Declaration of Protective Covenants. Failure to obtain approval violates the Protective Covenants and can result in the removal of the non-conforming structures or improvements at the homeowner�s expense. The homeowner is responsible for obtaining and posting the required City & County building permit(s). Approval of this application is for design purpose only; it does not, in any way indicate any opinion of structural quality or soundness of the plan by the Village Park Community Association Design Committee. Construction must begin within one hundred twenty (120) days of approval and be completed within a reasonable time period. If construction is delayed for any reason, please notify the Design Committee or resubmit your application. Any modifications to the approved plan by the City & County Building Department will require a copy of the modified plan being submitted to the Design Committee.

Question:
How long does it take for the Design Committee to process a Design Application Request?
Answer:
Design applications are sent to the Village Park Board of Directors every Friday. Approval or denial of homeowner design application requests take approximately 2-3 weeks.
